When To Use Hydrogel Breast Discs

Hydrogel breast discs can be used whenever your nipples need cooling, soothing comfort between feeds or pumping sessions.

They may be helpful for:

  • sore nipples from breastfeeding
  • cracked nipples
  • irritated or sensitive skin
  • early breastfeeding discomfort
  • pumping-related tenderness
  • post-feed cooling relief

If you are experiencing ongoing pain, bleeding, infection symptoms, or trouble with latch, please speak with a healthcare professional or lactation consultant.

Hydrogel Breast Pads vs Regular Breast Pads

Hydrogel breast pads and regular breast pads are used for different purposes.

Hydrogel pads are designed to soothe, cool, and comfort the nipple area. They are ideal when your skin feels tender, irritated, or in need of moisture-supporting care.

Disposable or cloth breast pads are designed to absorb milk leaks and help keep clothing dry.

Many nursing mothers use both: hydrogel breast discs for comfort between feeds, and regular breast pads for everyday leak protection.

How To Use Hydrogel Breast Pads

  1. Wash your hands before use.
  2. Gently place the hydrogel disc over the nipple area.
  3. Wear inside your bra between feeds or pumping sessions.
  4. Remove before breastfeeding or pumping.
  5. Follow the product instructions for replacement, reuse, and storage.

For an extra cooling effect, check the product instructions to see whether the pads can be safely chilled before use.

Like new again!!

I have had the Bellama euphoria plus for a little over 6 months and noticed my output was slowly decreasing, downsized inserts and replaced diaphragms and it is like brand new pump for the fraction of the price!!!

Size up worked well

I have used these inserts for my pump for 2 babies. I got good advice to try a size up this time and it worked really well. I ordered multiple sets of there 29mm upgrading from the 25mm. Excellent product, durable and comfortable. I use Milton baby detergent to wash and a UV steriliser for drying and sterilising.

Quick service and delivery but unfortunately the silicone lasted less than a week before a tear formed in the duckbill

Thanks for your feedback Min-Hi H. The inserts come brand new. As these are soft silicon they can be damaged during the cleaning or sterilising process. We recommend cleaning gently and sterilising with steam /boil or UV methods. I hope that helps.

Perfect fit

The Bellema Euphoria Plus came with shields far too large for me, I measure a 19mm but was advised to try these inserts by the awesome team at MTM, they work well for me are easy enough to take in and out to clean and well priced for when I need to replace them!

These inserts have been a lifesaver for my raynauds. The inserts themselves are soft and make them comfortable to use but also easy to warm which helps with my milk flow. They fit into the flange easily which makes late night or early morning pumping easier. Handy to note that you need to buy two, my mum brain didn't realise this!

Change your inserts!

I got a 2nd set of inserts so back to work pumping would be easier & to avoid needing to wash at work. Need to buy another set because holy suction! The difference between my inserts that have been in daily use for 4 months and these ones is insane.
