Pumping Hurts

The two most common causes of pumping pain are:

1. Pump suction set too high

2. Poor fitting pump

Lower your pump setting - your milk will come only when your milk lets down so turning the pump up higher won't help.

Check the size of your flange or breast shield. Most mums will pump comfortably with the standard size that comes with their pump but some may need a larger size. Try our amazing pain- free Bellema Breast Pumps they have soft silicone rather than a hard plastic like most other pumps which makes pumping a breeze.

If you are still having pain see an LC as you may need your nipples/breasts checked for other causes such as nipple trauma, infections, mastitis or Raynaud's etc.
